Want to know more about a career with TFC and the Co-op system? Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions:

What benefits does TFC offer?

A benefits program is available to employees at TFC and most member associations. These include:

What are the different career opportunities within TFC?

TFC provides a wide variety of career opportunities in its product departments, facilities, and service areas as well as a management training program that prepares candidates for jobs at member Co-op stores across the state. TFC's divisions and departments include:

  • Feed and Animal Health Division - animal health products and feed for all types of livestock, horses, and pets
  • Agronomy Division - inputs for production agriculture, including crop protection, farm seed, and fertilizer
  • Hardware Department - fencing and building materials, livestock equipment, baler twine, wire, feeders, and other products.
  • Consumer Products Division - comprised of the Home, Lawn, Specialty Department and Tires, Batteries, Accessories/Fuel Department, this division offers a wide variety of products and supplies for the home, lawn, garden, and sportsman as well as fuels, lubricants, farm and passenger tires, and automotive accessories.
  • Service Departments - these areas encompass all the administrative and member relations areas, including financial services, communications, accounting, legal, information systems, human resources, distribution and traffic, risk management, and more.
  • Facilities - TFC manufactures many of its own products in its feed mills, metal fabrication plant, fertilizer plants, and seed plant. Co-op products are also distributed through a network of warehouses across the state.

Where are TFC's facilities located?

TFC is headquartered in LaVergne, where most of the administrative and product departments are located. On the LaVergne property, TFC also has a feed mill, distribution center, metal fabrication plant, fertilizer plant, and Ag Equipment USA, which sells and services large farm equipment. TFC also has a feed mill, distribution center, and fertilizer plant in Jackson and Tenco near Rockford. A seed conditioning and packaging facility is located at Halls in West Tennessee.

The TFC system also includes 57 member Co-ops that are spread across the state in 83 of Tennessee's 95 counties. Several Co-ops have stores in adjacent states: Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, and Kentucky. In addition, TFC's subsidiary, ADI Agronomy, has locations in Missouri, Arkansas, and Kentucky.

What qualifications do I need for a career with Co-op?

Most positions at TFC or member Co-ops require a bachelor's degree in agriculture, business administration, or field related to the desired position, equivalent work experience, or a combination of the two. For many positions, a rural or agricultural background is also helpful. Training program candidates should also be willing to relocate.
