Twins are a relatively common occurrence in beef cattle. Triplets? Not so much. Studies show that the odds of a cow giving birth to triplets are 105,000-to-1, but that’s exactly what happened at Cantrell Farms in Smithville. Owner Jeff Cantrell reports that the trio of black Angus calves, born this past Oct. 25, each weighed 70-75 pounds at birth and are thriving additions to his 75-cow herd. – Photo courtesy of Jeff Cantrell
