Tennessee Farmers Cooperative is a proud sponsor of the 2024 Wilson County Fair — Tennessee State Fair. From Memphis to Mountain City, Tennessee has a rich tradition of agriculture, education, and history. This year’s fair celebrates the Year of Wheat and Small Grains to highlight one of the state’s most important and enduring agricultural commodities.

The theme of the fair is Sow the Fun, Harvest the Memories — 95 reasons to Celebrate Tennessee. Displays from all 95 counties will be featured in the Made in Tennessee building. Visitors can explore the exhibits in the Best of Tennessee State Champion competitions where winners from all county fairs vie for top honors.

Throughout the week, entertainment will be showcased on 15 stages. There will be more than 150 livestock shows, 60 thrilling amusement rides, and nightly competitions featuring motor sports like tractor pulls to monster truck shows. Nearly 100 concession stands will also be on hand.

Competition will be keen as 4-H and FFA youth from across the state battle it out for top honors in contests such as livestock and poultry shows, digital photography, fashion shows, auctioning, floral design, forestry, grill mastery, meats, public speaking, tractor driving, tractor restoration, vet science, welding, environmental natural resources, clover collection, and consumer decision making.

“Co-op helps sponsor some of the livestock shows — the junior show and the 4-H and FFA judging events,” says Jimmy Ogilvie, event and sales support manager at Tennessee Farmers Cooperative. “We also sponsor the 4-H and FFA competitions on Youth Day, including the FFA Grill Masters Competition.  We also help sponsor the 4-H picnic, the FFA Ham Breakfast, and the Farm to Table Dinner. We are glad to be a part of this exciting week celebrating our fantastic and talented youth throughout the state.”

Both the fair and the carnival opens weekdays at 5 p.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m., and Sunday at noon (fair) and 1 p.m. (carnival). Tickets for gate admission is $15 adults, $6 children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. Parking is $10 per car per day. Carnival armbands are $25 Sunday-Thursday, $30 Fridays, and $35 Saturdays. Admission gates close at 9:30 p.m.

See you at the fair!
